DEAR DAD, MY FIRST MAN

To the first man who taught me how to love
To the first man who showed me what the world is
To the first man who took my hands each day and walked with me
Dear Dad, the first man

He gave me his name with pride
Happy that I be called his own
He gave me his love nonstop
Happy that I shouldn't lack

Gotham has a lot of superheroes
But I have only you
The country has the military fighting for them
But I have just you to fight for me

You make every day special just by being with me
That honor to call you mine
Far more treasured than imagined
Dear Dad, my first man
